JESUS DOESN'T WANT TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN!

No, Jesus never had it in mind that he was a Christian nor that he wanted to become one.  Jesus never even used the term, "Christian", and certainly did not intend to launch an organization called Christianity.  He came to bring the "good news" of the kingdom.  He came to introduce the universal principles and teachings of the Kingdom of God and present himself as the King.

He didn't offer a system of do's and don'ts or a special formula or belief system; He offered himself.  Everything he said and did were to be inserted into the context of relationships. Therefore, Jesus came to launch a movement of followers who are participators, not spectators. This is why he nor any of his early disciples built buildings and organizations, but met primarily in homes. The Jesus movement was meant to be a movement of those who walked with Jesus and with one another, not a monument to some flavor of religion or doctrinal system.

Jesus outside of Christianity is the real and powerful Jesus! Jesus is so much greater than any religious system, yet fits within them all.  Jesus trumps everything!

By the way, Jesus is not interested in making the whole world Christian either. It's not enough to be a Christian. It's not enough to be a believer (the demons believe and the false prophets claim to be believers). Even the early disciples struggled with believing. Jesus is interested in those who believe enough to become followers.
